Will be interesting to see exactly how it turns out on live. I don't think it dropped more than one pet, because it seemed to despawn fairly quickly. It was just like looting a grey/white item. We weren't able to roll on it, I looted the Rabbit and the pet instantly went into my bags (had auto loot on). We eventually killed it, and were happy to see the Pet drop. Took a long, long time, would have taken even longer if a friendly Hunter didn't come to help me. Not pretty! Luckily, it doesn't attack Hunter pets, so I had my pet tank it while I dpsed away at max range. If you get too close, it jumps on you and you're doomed - it fears you, deals massive damage and you're even effected with a 100% healing reduction debuff. To defeat it was a long and grueling process, thanks to the 72 million health, and it being a MoP level boss (meaning it's basically lvl 93, so a lot of my attacks kept missing). It dropped from the "Darkmoon Rabbit", which resides in the Darkmoon Cave on the Darkmoon Island. The theorized method to kill the Darkmoon Rabbit is with Indalamar's New Holy Hand Grenade, though the location of this device has not been revealed – nor has its use been confirmed.Įdit: Updated to keep the information relevant.Ĭomment by WamoI recently obtained this pet in the Beta. You will also lose control of your character once the Rabbit engages you with this attack and you will inevitably die. If the rabbit makes it to the player, it will leap up, latch onto their face, and attack him/her mercilessly with its attack "HUGE, SHARP TEETH!" that hits a level 85 hunter with iLevel 380 gear for 24768 physical damage per tick (It took six ticks to do me in entirely). When attacked, the Darkmoon Rabbit will take on a buff called "Vicious Streak" with the subtext "It's a mile wide." while a blood red mist forms around its mouth. Upon its death, you can loot this the companion pet. However, the Rabbit does not appear to damage player combat pets at all (currently) so it is possible to whittle down the beasty at a painfully slow rate. There appears to be no way for your character to quickly kill the creature (under your own normal power), nor does it take any substantial damage from pet/minion attacks. It is a neutral mob that only becomes hostile after being attacked. Whether or not it is a rare spawn is currently unknown (though it does not appear to be), but it is a Level ? (Boss) with 72,000,000 health (read as 72000 K in-game) and a golden dragon portrait.
In the Mists of Pandaria beta, you may find the ill-tempered beast outside the previously uninhabited Darkmoon Cave on the eastern coast of the Darkmoon Island (which is appropriately littered with the bones of unfortunate players who attacked it).
Comment by 380664The mob itself is just as vicious as its Monty Python origin!
